Royce Hall at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA)
Buckle up and get ready to boldly go where no Star Trek fan has gone before. World-renowned composer and conductor David Newman leads the American Youth Symphony as they play Oscar winner Michael Giacchino’s exhilarating score for Star Trek Into Darkness, live to picture. As Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew race through J.J. Abrams’ 2013 sci-fi blockbuster, you’ll hear the AYS follow the action, note for note. This is not your typical night at the symphony — cheers, boos (for the villains, that is) and costumes are all encouraged when this screening hits Royce Hall at UCLA. So, throw on that Starfleet uniform and enjoy thrilling music paired with an interstellar movie at this one-of-a-kind event. Giacchino and the event’s host, renowned pop culture critic Jon Burlingame, will hold a brief pre-concert Q&A.
