The Theatre at Ace Hotel (Los Angeles, CA)
The Wolf Man, Mummy, Gill Man and Frankenstein are lurking into town for a flashback fright fest, courtesy of memorabilia mavens Creature Features. The Theatre at Ace Hotel will be haunted with a special cast and crew reunion screening of The Monster Squad, the epic 1987 cinematic smack-down between an intrepid band of middle schoolers and five of horrordom’s most fearsome beasties, led by Count Dracula himself. This spook-tacular movie matinee will include two panel discussions — before and after the film — hosted by Eric “Quint” Vespe of Ain’t It Cool News. Guests include Squad stars Andre Gower, Ryan Lambert, Ashley Bank and Stephen Macht, plus make-up and effects artists Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff, director of photography Bradford May and composer Bruce Broughton, who’ll premiere the brand new deluxe CD release of his score for the film. More guests will be added, so grab your Twinkies and don’t miss the opportunity to see this monstrous masterpiece on the big screen in one of Downtown LA’s grandest movie palaces.
