"Guys and Dolls"

The Tony-winning musical Guys and Dolls is set in New York City during the swinging 1940s. The story follows Nathan Detroit, who turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson for the cash to float the biggest craps game in town. When dolls — especially a straitlaced missionary named Sarah Brown — get involved, the term “high stakes” applies to both love and money. Jam-packed with big, flashy numbers like “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” it’s no surprise Time magazine pronounced Guys and Dolls “the greatest of all American musicals.” See Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s production of Frank Loesser’s beloved Broadway rom-com at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.
