Celebrating the violin in world music: Celtic fiddling, Norwegian Hardanger and jazz are some of the genres represented.

Payadora Tango Ensemble member Rebekah Wolkstein has performed and toured extensively with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Ballet of Canada and the Canadian Opera Company. Her skills transcend all genres, from folk to Latin, klezmer to jazz.

Award-winning producer, entertainer, artist, composer, environmentalist, and children’s musical superstar, Sultans of String co-founder Chris McKhool wears so many hats it’s no wonder he’s been seen on Mr. Dressup! The gifted McKhool is a story-teller who brings us music from all parts of the globe.

Jazz and classical violinist Drew Jurecka has performed with such giants as Dave Brubeck and Stevie Wonder. An in-demand soloist, session player, composer, and arranger, Drew has contributed to several JUNO winning and Grammy nominated albums.

Anne Lederman is a world-renowned fiddler, steeped in traditional music. Her ability to reinvent old music sets her apart as an artist.

This concert is a rare opportunity to witness the versatility of the violin as four of the country’s most talented performers take you on a trip around the world.
