Kick off Queen's Plate Week In Style!
This year marks the 157th running of Canada's most famous horse race, the Queen's Plate. To celebrate one of the city's oldest and chicest sporting traditions, filled with fashion and fast horses, we invite you to an exclusive screening of Being AP, a documentary that profiles the 2015 final season of 20-time Champion Jockey Sir AP McCoy. In terms of accomplishments, no athlete has dominated their sport like McCoy.
Being AP, which debuted at TIFF to unanimous praise, offers a raw and unflinching look at the daily life of a man who has reigned over the sport every year he's been in the saddle and McCoy's agonizing decision to retire after two decades at the top of the game.
This documentary is so much more than a film about a jockey, it's about closing a chapter that has defined your entire life.
Join us at Early Mercy in the heart of Toronto's Fashion District for fun cocktails, great food and an exciting film. When the film is over, you're invited to stick around for an afterparty with music, more cocktails and food, along with contests and prizes. All for two great causes.
Proceeds from the event will go to Horses Help Canada and the Jockeys Benefit Association of Canada.

Horses Help Canada is a non profit who partner autistic, other special needs and at-risk youth with horses in a rural setting so that they can work through issues such as self confidence, anxiety and fear.
The Jockeys Benefit Association of Canada is a not for profit association representing jockeys in Canada. One of their roles is to provide support and counselling for injured and disabled jockeys.
