Salon 6’s pop-up art exhibition, LIBERTY welcomes viewers into a dreamlike space free of social constraints. Within this space a complex feminist narrative emerges, comprised of enigmatic forms, mischievous heroines, and vivid colour. Both artists in the show draw inspiration for their paintings primarily from lived experiences. In particular, their background in community engagement has given them an interest in expressing female individuality. These experiences have notably influenced their techniques, their subject matter, and their rejection of linear perspectives.
LIBERTY runs from Thursday, July 14 to Sunday, July 17, 2016.
