More than just a design meetup, we will be hosting a full-day design celebration! Throughout the DesignFEST we will host a ray of creative talent exploring a wide range of design expressions in 2d, 3d and 4d. To set the mood for a full experience there will also be music, food and refreshments.
Designers and lovers of design are welcome to bring their laptops and portfolios to collaborate, show off and potentially meet their next client or collaborator. The DesignFEST is the best place in Toronto this summer to meet your next designer! Industry pros and agencies will be on hand for advice and to make new connections.
And the coolest feature of the DesignFEST: a friendly head-to-head design tournament! Comprised of FOUR design stations mirrored on flat screens, designers will be provided with a brief partner artwork to use as a jumping off point, and let loose!
Would-be competitors are signed up and confirmed before the event. However, space will be reserved for day-of attendees sign up also. Winners will be chosen by judges based on time, concept, use of design theory, originality + overall success of communicating the brief.
Winners receive a cash prize (or cash valued prize) based on our partner development agreements. (in other words… more to come.)
All attendees are encouraged to bring portfolios, laptops, tablets + anything else to help show and explore their work in a new kind of Creative / Designer meetup.
Speakers at the event will include industry professionals including Creative Directors, Passionate Designers + Commercial Design Futurists to be announced.
