Acharya Sri Khadi MadamaEpisode – 18

It didn’t take very long for Gracie to settle in comfortably at the back of the library. She liked it there very much and had so often come here when she had first moved to Plainville. Its solid oak desks and bookshelves, though brown and subdued, offered her a safe and cozy respite where she could be on her own to explore all of the subjects that she so enjoyed. World History and Literature were her favorite subjects, for it was within them that she could escape from her everyday world and lose herself in the folds of the solid bound sturdy books that adorned the shelves. She whispered aloud to herself that she wished she could take all of the tragedies in history and make them somehow come out all right. Just then Musika jumped up onto her shoulder and said “You can, Gracie. You can make things turn out all right. That’s the magic of Yoga*Land”, the little pink, golden vested mouse blurted out, requiring the librarian at the front of the library to send a resounding “Shhhhh” into the air of the library. Gracie was amazed that Musika’s voice could be heard that far away, and that lead to the fear that someone would see him. “You’d better go my little pink friend”, Gracie said as she scooped him up into the palm of her hand. He saluted her, took a deep breath that made his belly blow up into a large ball, and then all at once, pouf, he was gone again. Disappeared into thin air. But not before pink glitter began to descend like snow, onto her project. Gracie began to work on her report with much zeal, but soon began to get drowsy. So much so that she could barely keep her eyes open. She could hear Musika’s voice telling her to keep her eyes on the picture of Titanic. “Don’t take your eyes off of the picture of Titanic”, the little voice said before Gracie felt herself being drawn into the picture with such force she thought the whole desk was being drawn into a vortex, like Dorothy in the tornado in the Wizard of Oz. For a split second, everything turned a bright candy pink and then Gracie disappeared completely into the pinkness feeling like she was being pulled through a long pink tunnel.
