The Toronto Police would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in an investigation in to Child Luring and Child Exploitation.
On Thursday, March 28, 2019, members of the Toronto Police Service – Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant in the Eglinton Avenue East and Bayview Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
– from June 2018 to March 2019, the accused communicated online with numerous individuals, including children
– he offered the children money and gifts in order to entice them toward a sexual encounter
– he also requested for other individuals to engage sexually with a child for monetary gain
– additionally, the accused shared images depicting the sexual exploitation of children
Subsequent to the search warrant Peter Kirkeby, 31, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Luring a Child (under 16)
2) Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration from Person (under 18)
3) Make Available Child Pornography
4) Possess Child Pornography
5) Access Child Pornography
He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 9:30 a.m., at College Park courts, courtroom 501.
Police believe that Kirkeby contacted people under similar circumstances across the Province of Ontario and elsewhere in Canada. Police are concerned there may be other victims.
