The New Brunswick Police Association has recently chosen to run a series of radio and newspaper ads in Moncton. On of those ads questions the residency of members of the Codiac Regional RCMP. The ads allude that RCMP members with Codiac are not from the local area.

While members of the Codiac Regional RCMP currently call the greater Moncton area home and are active members of the community, many in fact have roots in the area. Of the 145 members of the Codiac RCMP, 110 are from the Maritimes. 96 of those members are from New Brunswick with 71 of them from the Greater Moncton area.

In addition, over the past three years more than 450 people have attended recruiting presentations in the Greater Moncton area to find out more about a career with the RCMP. Many of those have gone on to complete the process to become full members of the RCMP.
