Marina del Rey boat deputies used Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to revive unconscious woman at a restaurant recently.

Deputies Schwabe and Zabokrtsky, who are assigned to the Marina del Rey Sheriff’s Station Boat Operations, responded to “Shanghai Reds” restaurant March 31, 2012, regarding an unconscious woman.

They arrived and found a woman, who while celebrating her 73rd birthday, was apparently suffering from a heart attack, not breathing and had no pulse.

The deputies immediately started CPR and applied their Automated External Defibrillator (AED). They continued life saving measures until Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters arrived, continued lifesaving measures, and transported the woman to the hospital where she was reported to be alert and talking to medical staff.
