SINGER-SONGWRITER MEDITATION

Tue Feb 3, 2015 – 8PM – $20 students/artists $10

Fire in Winter singer-songwriter/meditation

Keep the heart fires bright in the dark of winter with Sandra Taylor and Lana Sugarman at intimate salon-style venue The Musideum.

Sandra’s songs and piano stylings have been likened to Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, and Keith Jarrett.

Her recordings can be found on the web at www.sandrataylor.bandcamp.com and www.sandramarietaylor.weebly.com

Her background includes studies in classical piano and west african percussion as well as healing soundwork. Sandra’s appreciation for music has always come with the spirit of play and imagination.

Lana’s music inspiration and love for harmony began with the musical theatre tradition. While studying at Sheridan College she began to write her own piano based folk/rock songs. In 2004, Lana was introduced to the practice of kirtan, call and response chanting. The repetition of sanskrit mantras can be a meditative and grounding experience and a chance to sing in community. These days Lana teaches yoga in Toronto, leads kirtans, and performs in musicals throughout the country. Her first album, Invocation was released in the summer of 2013.
