After the success of PadMan, Akshay Kumar and R. Balki are reuniting for Mission Mangal which is based on India’s 2013 space program of Mangalyaan mission. The film will be headlined by Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha along with Nithya Menon, Kirti Kulhari. As far as film is concerned Akshay Kumar plays a pivotal role and Sharman Joshi will also be a part of the film.Mission Mangal: Akshay Kumar hopes India’s mission to Mars story will inspire everyone

As the film is set for Independence Day 2019 release, Akshay is hoping the film inspires everyone. He took to his social media to share a note about his upcoming production and wrote, "#MissionMangal ,a film which I hope will inspire as well as entertain. A film which I’ve done specially for my daughter and children her age to familiarise them with the incredible true story of India’s mission to Mars!"

The note read, "Mission Inspire – For several years, Hollywood made movies and TV shows like Star Trek, Star Wars, Gravity etc. This inspired an entire generation of inventors, scientists and explorers. I have always wanted to be a part of one such movie…A movie that inspires future generations…one that celebrations imagination and curiosity."

It further said, "Mission Mangal is that film for me… a film which I hope will inspire as well as entertain. Based on the incredible true story of India's Mission to Mars. Mission Mangal is about ordinary people achieving extraordinary. A story that proves that creativity, dreams have no limit. Just like the sky!"

India’s first space film, Mission Mangal, which is in collaboration with R Balki and jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and Cape Of Good Films. The film is directed by Jagan Shakti.
