According to the IFP Youth Brigade, President Jacob Zuma must accelerate his investigation into the charges against Co-operative Governance Minister Sicelo Shiceka and thus treat him accordingly.

"This continued ducking and diving and failure to take decisive action against Mr Shiceka is totally unacceptable. President Zuma should act with the necessary speed and bring this matter to finality," said Mkhuleko Hlengwa, the chairperson of Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade.

On Wednesday, the government announced that Zuma could not make a decision about Shiceka’s prospects before the public protector manifested his supposed exploitation of state funds. According to the Presidential spokesperson, Mac Maharaj, Zuma wrote to Shiceka in the past about news of "a misuse of funds".

On the other hand, Zuma informed the National Assembly this week that he had inquired from the minister. Shiceka is apparently on sick leave since February. However, he indicated his desire to return.

Mkhuleko Hlengwa says, "Mr Shiceka has failed outright to provide moral leadership to municipalities that are under his supervision. He is not the type of person one wants at the helm of co-operative government."
