AyazuddinThe state of Ayazuddin, son of former Indian cricket captain and Moradabad MP Mohammad Azharuddin, continues to be ‘very critical’ for the second day even today. He was treacherously injured in a mishap, and now doctors are trying to review the condition of his brain.

"His (Ayazuddin’s condition continues to be very serious and the patient is being managed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on ventilator and BP support," a medical bulletin; issued this evening by the super-specialty hospital where he is being treated; said. "Neurological appraisals are being executed to assess his brain condition, which could be a major anxiety. It is suspected that there may be a momentous brain dysfunction due to anoxia during the period in which the patient was in a collapsed stage, which can be confirmed only after serial neurological tests," it said.

Ayazuddin continued grievous injuries, while his 16-year-old cousin Ajmal died in the motorbike accident that took place on the outskirts of the city yesterday. "Mohammad Ayaz, 19 years, was brought to the hospital on 11 September’s morning, in a misshapen state. Following destructive recovery, heart activity was revived and he was taken for emergency surgery in view of unrestrained bleeding from the left lung injury.

"Subsequently, he started bleeding from the left kidney and bladder. Patient was given blood products and coagulation factors. Bleeding was controlled," the bulletin said. Azharuddin, who flew in here from London in the wee hours, was in the hospital with his family members. Several major personalities like Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, visited the hospital.

According to police, the disaster arise around 9 AM yesterday near Puppalguda toll-gate on Outer Ring Road when a Suzuki sports bike, which Ayazuddin and Ajmaan were riding, skidded. Ayazuddin is the former cricketer’s son, from his first wife Naureen. Ayazuddin, who is pursuing B.Com at a city college, is a promising cricketer who played for his school and also club cricket.
