Khamenei claims victory in the first message after war with Israel

Iranian leader Khamenei congratulates his country with the “victory over the enemies” in his first message since a ceasefire with Israel. “Despite all the fuss, the Zionist regime is almost eliminated and crushed by the Islamic Republic,” he maintained a TV speech.

It was the first time that Khamenei made himself heard since 19 June, a few days after the surprise attack of Israel. He had reportedly sought refuge in a bunker after Israel had killed numerous high -ranking members of the regime in attacks, including the commander of the revolutionary guard.

Iran underlying party

Israel carried out attacks on the land for almost two weeks, which were answered by Iran with drone and rocket attacks. Iran was the underlying party in the conflict. The Israeli Air Force could bomb almost undisturbed targets, while most rockets were taken from Iran.

According to the authorities, more than 600 people were killed in Iran. There were 28 people in Israel. As far as known, one soldier was killed in Israel. Various army commanders and at least fourteen atomic scientists were liquidated in Iran. According to a human rights organization, Iran lost hundreds of soldiers in the air war.

Israel claims that the lion’s share of the Iranian launch installations has been destroyed. Shortly after the US had attacked important complexes of the Iranian atomic program, a cease-fire between the two countries came into force.

“Nothing achieved”

“The US was going to participate in the war because they were afraid that the Zionist regime would be completely destroyed,” Khamenei claims about the unprecedented American attack on his country. “But although they wanted to save that regime, they have not achieved anything.”

In his message, Khamenei also discussed the Iranian response to the American attacks. The country shot rockets on an American basis in Qatar, but warned the US in advance that the launch was hanged. As a result, there were no victims.

Khamenei called the attack “a heavy blow to the US’s face”. He underlined that his country could repeat such an attack if necessary. “When we see aggression again, the enemy will pay a high price.”

Uncertainty about damage to the atomic program

The Ayatollah did not respond to what damage had caused the war in his country. US President Trump immediately said that the American bombs had destroyed Iran’s most important atomic facilities. About that conclusion arose in the days after Discussion, because the Military Intelligence Service Dia in a leaked report doubted whether the extent of the damage had been so great.

Because that judgment was in direct contradiction with Trump’s remarks, the president fiercely took out the journalists who brought the news. “It was just a provisional report. The message was: let’s wait for us to have an answer,” Trump said to a question from a journalist. “The damage could be serious or not. But people like you immediately say:” Oh, it wasn’t serious. “

CIA director John Ratcliffe joined the discussion yesterday with An exceptional public statement About recent espionage activities. “Based on credible information, the CIA can confirm that Iran’s core program has been seriously damaged,” says Ratcliffe.

‘Trustworthy’

Instead of a delay of just a few months, as stated in the provisional DIA report, Ratcliffe is convinced that Iran has been restored to his nuclear ambitions for years.

Ratcliffe did not mention what he bases his conclusions on, only that the information comes from “reliable and correct sources/methods in the past”.
