Sheila Copps declares that formatting a defense support for the liberals to shield attacks from Conservatives would be on the top of her priority list being the chief of the Liberal Party of Canada.
Copps said: “I want to set up a Liberal defense fund to counter the attacks on us early and often. [Prime Minister Stephen] Harper has run vicious campaigns against [Stéphane] Dion and Michael Ignatieff and we’ve been silent. We’ve taken the high road but the reality is that his advertising had a devastating impact.”
Earlier also Sheila Copps ran for the presidency of the Liberal Party in 2003 next to Paul Martin. In a recent broadcast, Copps alleged that Liberals are at an intersection, as is the country.
She said: “I want to be part of the solution. I can’t watch a great party disappear and see a country folded into two extremes.”
