Canadians might be sighing with relief, especially the close relatives of victims of infamous serial killer Clifford Robert Olson. It seems like the “Beast of British Columbia” is suffering from cancer and has merely a few weeks or less left in this world.
Back in 1981, Olson was taken under custody. He later admitted murdering 11 children in British Columbia. He was sentenced to life in prison. 71 years old Olson has been in a maximum-security jail in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Que. ever since.
Mother of one of his victims, Sharon Rosenfeldt, alleged she’s been told Olson ‘s now been relocated to a Montreal-area hospital.
Rosenfeldt said: “I’m trying to come to terms with the feelings of our family. I spoke with all of my family last night and we all have mixed emotions about it. My son summed it up by saying, ‘Mom, even though he’s going to die — we still don’t have Daryn.'”
Rosenfeldt’s son, Daryn Johnsrude, was Olson’s third victim. The teenager was abducted in the spring of 1981 in Coquitlam, B.C.
She added: “The thing is, he won’t be able to hurt us again, and that pretty much sums it up. Maybe we can put our little boy to rest now.”
