troy davis 110921 620x350Following our story 2 days back about Troy Davis, who was sentenced to a death penalty for the murder of a police officer, we would like to update that Troy Davis breathed his last breath at Georgia’s death Chamber yesterday.

Moments before he was executed Troy declared for one last time that he was innocent and did not kill police officer Mark MacPhail, as his brother and son watched on shedding tears of agony.

There were around 500 supporters who held candles and cried about injustice.

Davis uttered his last words by saying “I am innocent, All I can ask … is that you look deeper into this case so that you really can finally see the truth. I ask my family and friends to continue to fight this fight.”

The late police officer Mark MacPhail’s family and prosecutor said that justice has been served finally.

MacPhail’s mother said “I’m kind of numb. I can’t believe that it’s really happened, all the feelings of relief and peace I’ve been waiting for all these years, they will come later. I certainly do want some peace.”

She also insisted that it was wrong of Davis to call himself innocent.

She added” He’s been telling himself that for 22 years. You know how it is, he can talk himself into anything.”
