NDP is inclined towards discussing the option of backing Liberals or Progressive Conservatives in the event voters elect a minority government Oct. 6.

On Thursday, Andrea Horwath said: “I’m not ruling anything out because the people haven’t made their ruling yet. I’m going to wait and give the people of Ontario the respect they deserve.”

She earlier seemed glad about the progress made on the social issues when previous Ontario NDP leader supported the Liberals in 1985 in an agreement for two years. Rae also conferred with the Tories.

In the meantime, Tim Hudak has discarded the idea of “secret backroom deals” to rule in an alliance with the Liberals or New Democrats in the event of a minority government.

Hudak says, “I have no idea if Dalton McGuinty has been in secret talks with Andrea Horwath. I have no idea. Here’s my approach: I have none and I will not. I’m actually going to do something unique here, it sounds like, I’m going to let voters decide. If you’re looking for someone who’s going to do the backroom deal, who’s going to do the secret agreement, that’s Dalton McGuinty, that’s not me.”
