Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer, two Americans who were recently released from the Iranian prison have reached the United States of America today at 11:00 a.m. ET. The American Airlines flight arrived at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The two Americans were detained in Iran back in 2009 on the grounds of being American spies. However, they had pleaded themselves innocent as they were only hiking on the Iran-Iraq border along the Kurdish region.
“It’s actually just a great relief. We’ve all been sort of on pins and needles,” said Fattal’s uncle, Fred Felleman. “This last week has been somewhat hellish – the on-again, off-again process. We just would like Josh and Shane to start the process of reincorporating back into society”.
They were released under a $1 million bail deal.
