what-does-mitt-romney-stand-forMitt Romney is presenting signs of revival after the charismatic entry of Rick Perry began to sputter in the week gone by, making Rick Perry look like a one hit wonder while Romney came out from a arduous debate last week as the seasoned pro, according to experts who say the former Bay State governor may have the discipline and broad appeal to last through the exhausting primary ordeal.

“Romney has the staying power to get through the whole thing, to have the positioning to challenge Obama’s moderate credentials and to hold on to his Republican base,” said Democratic political analyst Lou DiNatale. “He’s running the smartest campaign to date.”

It’s a formidable campaign and he’s a much improved candidate,” Bill Kristol of The Weekly Standard told the Herald. “Perry seems to have faltered . . . but it’s still a fluid race.”

Eric Fehrnstrom campaign spokesperson said “It’s going to be a competitive race to its very end. Some days you’ll be up, other days you’ll be down, we’re not taking anything for granted. But we feel good in that Mitt Romney is clearly the best candidate to lead on the number one issue facing voters — jobs and the economy.”
