Richard Harris charged with multiple counts of capital murder in Houston

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of three people at 9314 Randolph about 11:20 a.m. on Friday (June 4).

Richard Harris (w/m, DOB: 3-10-62) is charged with multiple counts of capital murder in the 208th State District Court. He is accused in the deaths of Billy Blessing, Kelly Amason and Deborah Richardson, all of the above address. All three victimes suffered multiple stab wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers D.W. Arnold and C.T. Hufstedler reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a call for service at the residence on Randolph and found the three roommates deceased. Witnesses stated that a fourth roommate, Harris, had left the scene in Ms. Richardson’s white 1991 Honda Accord. According to witnesses, Harris had told them he had committed the murders.

About 2:30 p.m. on Friday (June 4), a man identifying himself as Harris, committed an aggravated robbery at a CVS Pharmacy at 8234 Broadway. He fled the scene in an unknown location.

About 11:55 p.m. on Friday (June 4), Harris was located in the 7900 block of Easton. He was found in the back seat of the Honda Accord and had suffered self-inflicted stab wounds to his torso and neck. Harris was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
