Fatal vehicle struck claims an elderly pedestrian woman’s life at 7900 Westheimer

Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7900 Westheimer about 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday (April 9).

The female victim, 63, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Vanderbull and Senior Police Officer J. Ortiz reported:

A silver Ford Explorer left a private drive and was traveling west in the 7900 block of Westheimer when it struck the victim, a pedestrian. The woman was not in a cross walk at the time of the accident. The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and was questioned and released without charges.

The investigation is continuing.
