Michel Clement charged with child pornography offences in Sudbury

In early November 2010, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit received information from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at the National Child Exploitation Coordination Center in Ottawa that an individual from the Sudbury area was in possession of and making available Child Pornography.

An extensive investigation was undertaken with the Toronto Police Service; partner police agency from the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet and the suspect was identified and located.

On the 19th of November 2010, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit and uniformed officers executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a Sudbury area residence.

Several computers and data storage devices were located and the investigators located video and graphic image files that were evidence of child pornography and distribution of the files.

The suspect was arrested without incident.

52 year old Michel CLEMENT of Sudbury has been charged with the following offences

Possession of Child Pornography – X4
Make Available Child Pornography – X3
Access Child Pornography – X1
Distribution of Child Pornography – X1
The accused attended video bail court on the 20th of November 2010.
