Police are investigating an incident where a young boy was stuck by a vehicle in Dartmouth Monday afternoon.

Police responded to Irving Street at approximately 3:30 p.m. after an 11-year-old boy was stuck by a van. The preliminary investigation indicates that the boy was on rollerblades playing hockey in the street with a group of kids. The van was driving through the area when the boy was struck. The van continued on and was located a short while later; it is believed that the driver did not realize he had struck a child. The boy was taken to hospital where he remains with potentially life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is on-going and police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have information about this incident.
