Sudbury mine bomb threat turns out be a hoax

 The Greater Sudbury Police Service received a threatening complaint on January 18th, 2011. The complainant claimed to have been told by another person that a “bomb” had been planted at a mine site in the Garson – Falconbridge area of Greater Sudbury.

Officers attended the residence of the complainant to obtain further details while other members of the GSPS made their way to the mine site that was allegedly targeted.

The investigation resulted in charges against the person calling in the complaint as the information was deemed to have been fabricated.

A 48-year old male from Greater Sudbury was arrested on January 19th and he is charged with Public Mischief.
