Police have identified the body discovered in a North Vancouver Park on February 2nd of this year.

Investigators from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team have conclusively identified the adult female found in the North Vancouver Park located in the 2300 block of Kirkstone Road is 40-year-old Jennifer FERGUSON of Surrey.
FERGUSON was reported missing to the Surrey RCMP on January 30, 2011 and had not been seen since January 22, 2011. FERGUSON was not known to police.
Investigators are now able to confirm reports that suggested that FERGUSON’S body was wrapped in plastic when it was discovered.
As a result of evidence gathered at the scene and elsewhere, police are now of the opinion that the murder occurred at a location other than where FERGUSON was located.
“Based on what the evidence is telling us, we believe Jennifer was murdered at one location and later placed in the park,” said Corporal Dale Carr of IHIT.
Police will not be releasing the cause of death as it will be direct evidence, expected to be used in future for a prosecution.

Investigators are still attempting to find additional information surrounding the length of time Jennifer was at the location on Kirkstone.
