“Fatigue is one of the main reasons behind the team’s poor run in the series so far”, the experts said from the medical field as the debate over undue cricket is taking its toll on the Indian team’s fortunes in England.

A senior consultant orthopedic surgeon, Raju Vaishya, at Apollo hospital has declared that chronic fatigue has a bearing on the performance of a sports people. Vaishya also added that detail hard work can make to a bad effect on one’s muscles which in turn might also have an effect on the joints.

The doctors certainly commented, “There is a possibility that one injury might have added to the cause of the other”, stressing upon the Indian pace spearhead bowler, Zaheer Khan, who subsequently went very bad for a sick anchor besides having an aching shoulder at the same time.

Orthopedic surgeon, Vaishya, credited the increasing number of injuries to the cricket players to “increased participation” and to the reduced injury management. “Generally, sports persons hide their injuries thinking that it might have an ill-effect on their career and even if they do disclose their injuries they do not receive proper advise,” Vaishya added.
