The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to welcome 6-foot, 6-inch import receiver Demario Ballard to the practice roster.
Ballard caught 70 passes for 1,186 yards and 12 touchdowns during three seasons at Western Oregon. As a senior, he was named First-Team All-GNAC when he caught 35 passes for 620 yards and 5 touchdowns. Ballard transferred to Western Oregon from Siskiyous Junior College where he was a standout basketball and football player. He was a final training camp cut of the NFL’s Detroit Lions this year.
The club also announced that import QB Zack Eskridge has been removed from the practice roster today.

Personal: Demario graduated from Thomas High School in Thomas, Georgia in 2003 as a highly regarded basketball prospect. He elected to take two years off to work at a company called Rinker Materials which was a rock quarry before enrolling at Siskiyous Jr. College in California. There he played basketball as a freshman and both basketball and football in his second year. During his pro day he was clocked at 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Demario majored in Business while at Western Oregon.
