Foster Pots Five Goals in Three Games Over the Weekend

The American Hockey League announced today that Toronto Marlies forward Alex Foster has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 22. In three games over the weekend, Foster notched five goals and one assist for six points while recording a plus-two rating.

Foster, 25, returned to the Marlies line-up on Friday night after missing the previous 10 games and scored two goals in Toronto’s 7-1 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters. The next day against Grand Rapids, the Canton, MI native notched two, third period goals in the Marlies 6-3 loss. Foster extended his goal scoring streak on Sunday afternoon with his fifth goal of the weekend in Toronto’s 3-2 shootout victory over the Monsters.

In recognition of his achievement, Foster will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Marlies home game.

Foster, the Marlies all-time games played leader at 220 games, ranks fourth on the club with six goals despite only skating in eight games so far this season.

The Marlies are back in action on Wednesday morning when they host the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, in their first school day game of the season at 11:00 a.m. at Ricoh Coliseum.
