Toronto FCToronto FC announced Tuesday that the club has acquired defender Jeremy Hall from FC Dallas in exchange for Toronto’s second round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. 

“We’re happy to add Jeremy Hall to our club. He is a solid defender with excellent MLS experience,” said Toronto FC Head Coach and Technical Director, Aron Winter. “Defence is one of the areas that we want to address this offseason and acquiring Jeremy is a positive step forward for our club.” 

Hall, 23, made 21 league appearances last season between FC Dallas and Portland Timbers. FC Dallas acquired him on August 19 in a deal with Portland. Hall was born in Tampa, Florida and was drafted 11th overall in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by New York Red Bulls. He made 37 appearances for New York over two seasons before being traded to Portland Timbers on November 22, 2010. 

Hall played his college soccer with the University of Maryland. With the Terrapins, Hall made 66 appearances and scored 26 goals while adding 14 assists. He has also spent time with the U.S. Soccer Residency program at the U-17 level.
