Trump trapped in Iran’s maze

The entire world is currently focused on the tense situation between the United States and Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has treacherously embroiled President Trump in a war with Iran, creating significant difficulties for Trump. This is the first time in world history that a country like Iran is challenging the United States on every front. Consequently, even the US military is fed up with Trump’s miscalculations. Recently, news emerged regarding the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the US Navy that shocked the entire world. This warship departed San Diego, California, on November 21, 2025, on its scheduled voyage. Initially, it was deployed in the Pacific and South China Sea, but after the outbreak of war between Israel, the United States, and Iran in January 2026; it was suddenly diverted to West Asia/Arabian Sea. Approximately 5,000 sailors and marines are deployed on this warship. These sailors have spent more than 250 consecutive days at sea, nearly 200 of which were without a port call, a record in modern US Navy history. This deployment of sailors and marines was originally scheduled to end in May 2026, but due to the on-going war with Iran, it was repeatedly extended, making the soldiers’ return home uncertain. Due to this immense psychological pressure, at least six sailors attempted suicide by jumping into the sea from the warship, only to be rescued in time by their fellow soldiers. This incident has sparked widespread discussion around the world.

Several US lawmakers, including Mike Levin and families of Marines have revealed that life on the warship has become a living hell. Hot water has been absent for weeks, and toilets and showers have broken down. Laundry facilities are out of order, forcing soldiers to wear dirty clothes. Food and essential supplies are severely scarce on the warship, with rations running low, and soldiers are being given very limited meals. Furthermore, the disruption of the war’s supply chain has made it difficult to transport supplies from US bases like Bahrain to the ship. Following the incident, pressure from US lawmakers, and the outrage of families, Acting US Navy Secretary Hung Kao has announced that the warship is being recalled under a rotation plan. Another aircraft carrier, the USS George Washington, is being sent to replace it in the Middle East to provide relief to the exhausted soldiers. However, this news has certainly highlighted the dire situation currently facing US troops.

Meanwhile, surprising news emerged regarding President Trump’s last-minute flight change amid suspicions of a potential threat from Iran. According to the Washington Post, Trump secretly changed planes while leaving the NATO summit in Turkey last month. Reports suggested that the US President boarded Air Force One in full view of television cameras, then was secretly transported in a tall airport catering truck and transported to a military aircraft. However, a new report by the Washington Post states that Trump changed planes once again. The Post, citing a US official, reported that Trump was evacuated from the older Air Force One aircraft in a catering container. This container then transported him to a smaller C-32A aircraft, which is the aircraft he flew to Britain in. Even journalists and some White House staff on board were unaware of this. Earlier, during the summit in Ankara, Trump had stated that he was Iran’s “number one target.”

One of the biggest reasons for Trump’s fear of Iran is that during the funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in July 2026, highly offensive posters, banners, and slogans calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump were openly displayed in Iran. Ayatollah Khamenei and several of his family members were martyred in US-Israeli airstrikes in February 2026, and the subsequent massive funeral ceremony sparked widespread anger among Iranians. During the funeral, large banners and threatening posters reading “KILL TRUMP” in English were seen everywhere on the streets of the capital, Tehran, and Mashhad, Khamenei’s burial city. Women dressed in black and protesters held red placards with “KILL TRUMP” written in bold letters. Many posters depicted images of Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with crosshairs drawn on them. The posters read, “There will be blood.” Similarly, a huge billboard of Trump was hung from a bridge in Tehran, depicting a bullet mark over his head and the words, “America killed our father, and we will not spare you!” Angry crowds passing by pelted the billboard with stones. At Khamenei’s funeral procession, the crowd collectively swore, “We swear on the blood of our Supreme Leader, we will kill you, Trump!” Poets and announcers from the main stage shouted over loudspeakers, asking the crowd, “Why is the world’s most wicked man (Donald Trump) still alive? Why shouldn’t we kill the one who killed our Imam?” The entire crowd then chanted, “Death to Donald Trump!” Even Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, issued a written statement saying that Iran has compiled a hit list of these “criminal killers” and that revenge against them is now Iran’s national resolve. Such circumstances are enough to make Trump and his security advisors fear Iran. It would not be wrong to say that due to his own wrong decisions, Trump has become deeply trapped in Iran’s web.
