With loud a Bollywood fusion beat in the air and beads of sweat glistening on their faces, young dancers and fashion models awed audiences at yesterday’s Dreams Wedding Show & Bazaar held at Versailles Convention Center in Mississauga.

The state of the art catwalk fashion shows drew rapt attention from the crowd as model after model hit the runway to showcase some of Toronto’s up and coming names in bridal wear including Sahar Designs, Eka Emporio, Fazia Fashions, and Sanskriti Arts. Between fashion shows, audiences were kept glued to their seats with energetic performances by Geetanjali Musical Group, Bollywood Beatz, and noted violinist Grenville Pinto. Commented one visitor, “I came expecting a typical bridal show… but this really is more like a big party!”

In addition to enjoying the live entertainment on-stage, engaged couples and their families got down to the serious business of wedding planning. “Not only do we have some of the traditional wedding vendors that people expect at a wedding show, we have some smaller outfits and independent wedding craftsmen who can provide an original touch for your wedding, like fruit-carved center pieces, organic confectionary, and custom mandap and stage designs,” commented Payal Gupta, President of Dreams Shows Inc.

From an exhibitor point-of-view, the show certainly didn’t disappoint as John Kenyon of Absolute Tent & Event Services found: “We’re very pleased to be here. The turnout is great and the crowd has been a lot of fun. The bonus though has to be all the delicious food I’ve been sampling all day long!”

Exhibitors and the public were not the only ones to experience the sights and rhythmic sounds of Dreams 2009 – key members of the South Asian media were present including ATN, Sahara One, Filmy, Hindi Abroad, and The Weekender. Dreams 2010 is scheduled for November 14, 2010.
