Mahira Khan became a sensation when she was announced as the leading lady of Shah Rukh Khan in Raees. However, post the ban of Pakistani artists in Indian films, we probably won’t be able to see more of her. However, Mahira continues to attract attention of B-town lovers. Now the actress was seen sharing the stage with veteran actress and host Simi Garewal in London.
The two actresses were a part of the U.K. Asian Film Festival that was held in the England capital. They were felicitated during the festival which revolved around women-centric work in the film industry. Mahira and Simi came together for a small interactive session and needless to say, it was pretty entertaining. Simi Garewal donned her role as the one rendezvousing whereas Mahira Khan was in the mood for some intriguing revelations.
When Mahira Khan was asked about how her working in films has affected her family, the actress expressed her gratitude towards her parents who supported her in her endeavors. But at the same time, she spoke about how her maternal grandmother continues to react. According to her, she is yet to come in terms with her profession. Yet, Mahira asserted that her grandmother watches all her shows.
Mahira Khan said, “She watches all my shows and films.” But she was quick to add about the inhibition her grandmother has.” “But there are some men she doesn’t like me saying ‘I love you’ to.” However, her grandmother too has her own set of exceptions to this rule. “But she doesn’t mind Fawad,” stated Mahira.
This obviously left the audience and Simi Garewal in splits. But the popular actress turned host was more than happy to add to that comment. Simi responded, “”She has an amazing taste.” We couldn’t agree more to that! Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan are a popular couple after they did the TV show Humsafar that became a major hit in India and Pakistan.
While Simi Garewal was presented with the UK Golden Award for her contribution in Indian cinema, Mahira Khan walked away with the Flame Award for film and activism. Furthermore, Khan’s recent Pakistani film Verna too was screened at the film festival.
