On August 17, 2011, shortly after 8 p.m., the Acadian Peninsula RCMP received a call advising them that a small Cessna plane had crashed close to the Aéroport de la Péninsule, in Village Blanchard, N.B.

A 65-year-old man from the Shippagan area was alone in the plane. He sustained non life-threatening injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Members of the Caraquet Fire Department, as well as employees from NB Power and Transport Canada responded.
