Guitarist Iron Maiden orders a pizza at Eindhovens Restaurant: ‘Had not recognized him’
A restaurant in Eindhoven was surprised by a special visit last night. Guitarist Janick Gers from the metal band Iron Maiden entered the restaurant and ordered a pizza. Manager Valentina did not recognize him in the first instance. She asked if he was on vacation. “But he still had some work to do,” she laughs.
The metal band has a performance tomorrow at the Graspop festival in Dessel, Belgium, but the British guitarist (68) entered the restaurant something before closing time last night.
When manager Valentina took the order, she did not immediately notice who it was, she says to Broadcasting Brabant. “I asked what he wanted to eat and when he ordered a pizza, I wondered what kind of accent he had,” she says. According to Valentina, he said he was from East London and was traveling for work. He still had something to do in the area, he told her.
Un recognized
After the short conversation, the world star sat down at a table. Valentina was then stormed by colleagues from the kitchen. “You know who that is?” They shouted. After it became clear that he was actually the guitarist of Iron Maiden, the kitchen brigade also grabbed the opportunity to ask him a few things, says Valentina. “When the cook asked what the pizza was like, he said that it was” fucking delicious. “
According to Valentina, the famous guest was friendly and also took a picture with various colleagues.
