Cineyug Films Director Karim Morani, one of the accused in the 2G spectrum case, was arrested this morning and taken into judicial custody after a Delhi court rejected his bail plea. Morani had filed his regular bail plea on May 24 after the court had denied anticipatory bail and directed him to appear before it. Morani has been accused by the CBI of facilitating kickback payments from DB Realty to Kalaignar TV. The CBI had alleged that Morani took six crore for facilitating the Rs 200 crore transaction. Morani had been seeking exemptions from court appearances citing medical grounds. During his last hearing too, Morani came to court wearing a neck brace. His lawyers said he’s undergone an angioplasty and has been in hospital for many days.
