Hrithik Roshan is super excited with the theatrical trailer of his Republic Day release Kaabil crossing 20 million video views within no time. The trailer was launched on Tuesday and by Saturday afternoon it is making massive progress. The response is phenomenal on Facebook as well. I met Hrithik today afternoon and he’s extremely pleased with the unanimous appreciation for the promo.

Hrithik informed me that the script is the basic fulcrum of any film and if you get it right then everything goes right and that’s where Kaabil scores. He credited Sanjay Gupta for getting an extremely good script and stated that he had a great time shooting for the film. Kaabil has been entirely shot in Mumbai with Hrithik wrapping up his portions in 60 days.

I spoke to Hrithik about the process of his approach towards various roles that he has enacted over a span of so many years. He said that it is all about enjoying what you do. “If your performance has the desired impact on you as an audience, if you get goose bumps, then it will have the desired impact on the audience, it’s as simple as that,” Hrithik said.

Many of Hrithik’s performances like Jodhaa Akbar, Krrish, Krrish 3, Mohanjo Daro, Koi Mil Gaya etc have involved gruelling schedules with heavy costumes and shooting stretched over many days, how does he retain the patience to keep going? “You need to be patient if you’re not enjoying the process of what you’re doing. If you are passionate about what you’re doing, you don’t need patience. You don’t mind anything. The Cape in Krrish 3 and the shooting was tough but I had a great time through it all.”

I still remember when I met you post Guzaarish that film had hugely impacted you as a person. “Yes it did,” he said. Hrithik added that it is not the films that fail, it is the budgets. He said that if Guzaarish was correctly budgeted then it would have been commercially successful as well.

Hrithik is planning to spend Diwali with his kids gorging on sweets and other delicacies.
