Nargis Fakhri was last seen playing the role of Christina in the film Banjo. Well now Nargis is all set to essay the role of the quintessential Punjabi bride in the Indo – American film 5 Weddings.

Interestingly though, this will be the first time Nargis will be seen on screen as a Punjabi bride, the actress has left no stone unturned in getting her look right, be it her outfit to jewellery and footwear, Nargis ensured her ensemble is simply jaw dropping gorgeous. Talking about her look on twitter, Nargis posted, “One of our many loooks @RajkummarRao @1aMinute #5weddings #Punjab”.

Commenting on the same, an inside source from the film says, “Nargis and Raj, a first time on screen pairing, are shooting for the film in Chandigarh and were seen in this avatar amidst an emotional wedding scene. Overall, Nargis has been having a great time working on this film with Namrata Gujral and Rajkumar. It’s a great vibe on set making work seem like so much fun”.

Earlier too Nargis had shared one of her looks from the film on Instagram saying, “My job allows me to explore different characters from all walks of life. This has given me the opportunity to understand many aspects of the human psyche and to learn about various ways of living and how culture influences us. This gives me more compassion for all and I feel one with the human race not one with a particular group or country. I love my fellow humans.”

As for the film, 5 Weddings that features Rajkumar Rao and Nargis Fakhri will see Rao playing a cynical cop with the Punjab Police, who is assigned to escort Nargis’s character, an Indian girl raised in the US who has come down to India to do a magazine feature on Indian weddings. The simple assignment turns complicated thanks to this cop who is convinced it’s an espionage operation. Directed by Namrata Singh Gujral the Indo American film is slated to release later this year.
