Why did Kattappa kill Bahubali? This is the question that haunts the entire nation since Bahubali released in July 2015. Now with the shooting of the sequel complete and in post-production, the leaked footage of the film’s conclusion has created a panic and paranoia in the film’s team.

“The producers and director S S Rajamouli are huddled in a corner about the next move. All post-production has been stopped until a method to prevent further piracy is found,” says a source close to the Bahubali team.

It is felt by the film’s team that the only way the sequel’s intrigue suspense and curiosity-value can be preserved is by ensuring the plot is not leaked out. All the actors and technicians of the film have been strictly forbidden from addressing the media about the Bahubali plot.

The film’s writer Vijayendra Prasad says there is little they can do to prevent such outrage from happening again. “What happened recently (the footage piracy) was despicable. Luckily the plot wasn’t revealed. But there is not much we can do to stop such incidents from happening. There are 250 technicians working on the post-production. Anyone who feels like showing off to his friends can record and leak out the footage. We can only appeal to the good sense of the people who are tempted to do such things.”
