Barely a few days after Ra.One found itself in a copyright row, now yet another film, Rohit Dhawan’s directorial debut Desi Boyz, finds itself in an uncalled for controversy. Latur based writer Shyam Devkatte has moved the Bombay High Court alleging copyright violation against the makers of Akshay Kumar- John Abraham starrer Desi Boyz.

Devkatte claims that the title ‘Desi Boys‘ was registered by him with the Film Writers Association (FWA) in 2009 and he had even shared the script of his film to Rohit Dhawan’s assistants. When he saw the first promo of Rohit’s Desi Boyz, he was shocked and taken aback. He even tried to contact Rohit Dhawan for an explanation but in turn was abused and threatened by some person.

Devkatte has filed a police complaint at the Amboli police station and even filed a petition in the High Court. Besides a stay on the release of the day of the movie, he has also demanded appropriate compensation.

While Desi Boyz is slated to release on November 25, the case is likely to be heard on October 28. One will have to wait and watch the outcome of this case.
