sanjay leela bhansali abides by the demands made by the rajput karni sena

Last Friday, the news of vandalism on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati spread like wild fire in B-town. While several came out in support of Bhansali and his crew, voicing their thoughts against the hooliganism the team had to face whilst shooting in Rajasthan, Bhansali, on the other hand, has decided to agree to the demands made by the Rajput Karni Sena.

In fact, Shobha Sant, CEO of Bhansali Productions has already signed a notice, agreeing to the demands of the group where it has been clearly stated that there will not be having any kind of romantic sequences or objectionable scenes between Rani Padmini aka Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji in the film. Content over the decision taken by Bhansali’s production house, Lokendra Kalvi of Karni Sena stated that most of their demands have been met. They had also asked for a change in title but during the meeting, Sant and Executive Producer Chetan Deolkar stated that it is too late to make that change and the Sena agreed to the same. They expressed that they are glad that history has not been distorted.

For the uninitiated, a couple of days ago, when the cast and crew of Padmavati shifted to Rajasthan to complete a major schedule, they were welcomed in a not so ethical manner. A group of people disrupted the shoot, attacked Bhansali and even caused damage to the equipment on the sets of the film.

There have also been rumours that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will have to recreate a set resembling Rajasthani culture at a different location owing to the scandal the film got trapped into. However, we hear that the director will soon resume work with his team in the state and they have requested Karni Sena to not disrupt the shoot henceforth.

Starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in lead roles, Padmavati is slated to release on November 17.
