Of late, news reports have been abuzz with the Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor connection, courtesy the much talked about biopic of the former starring the latter. While the bond between the two has only strengthened in the past couple of months, here’s an interesting piece of information that traces back the history Sanjay Dutt shared with Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor.
We all are aware of the fact that Sanjay Dutt, who was a star kid born to famous veteran actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis, made his debut in Bollywood with Rocky alongside Tina Munim as his co-star. And now yet another interesting angle to the story was revealed by the ‘bad man’ of Bollywood, Gulshan Grover – He reminisced about the incident stating that he shared a brotherly bond with Sanjay Dutt. The latter was under the assumption that his then girlfriend Tina Munim was apparently dating the then unmarried Rishi Kapoor, as per rumours. So he apparently ganged up with Gulshan and marched towards the Kapoor’s residence to beat him up.
However, they were stopped in time by none other than, Rishi Kapoor’s then fiancé and now wife Neetu Kapoor who cleared their suspicions and confirmed that none of it is true. However, despite the misunderstanding, Gulshan maintained that he still holds a great friendship with Rishi Kapoor who is fondly addressed as Chintu while the one with Sanjay Dutt has lessened over the years. However, he adds that they are still in touch.
On the other hand, after these years, we believe that neither Sanjay Dutt nor Rishi Kapoor is holding away any kind of bitter feelings. Moreover, Sanjay was more than happy to have Ranbir Kapoor on board when Rajkumar Hirani announced the Dutt biopic. In fact, from gymming to reading sessions, we hear that Ranbir is spending lot of time together with Sanjay Dutt and that the two are even extremely fond of each other.
