While many of her contemporaries are busy with their commitments within Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra is shuffling between those commitments and Hollywood (although the latter is on an upswing of late). Besides that, Priyanka Chopra is giving equal attention to her brand commitments and regional films, which she has been producing under her banner Purple Pebble Pictures.
Speaking about regional films, Priyanka Chopra has been instrumental in making films like Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi (in Bhojpuri), the much acclaimed Ventilator (in Marathi) and also the recently launched Sarvann (in Punjabi) and Kay Re Rascalaa (Marathi again). However exploring other languages too, Priyanka Chopra has now announced a Sikkimese film Pahuna under the banner of ‘Purple Pebble Pictures’. The film Pahuna is a brave story about the love, strength and the undying courage of three Nepali children who get separated from their parents. The entire cast and many of the technicians are from Sikkim itself. Reports have it that, because of the support of Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, Purple Pebble Pictures and the Ministry of Tourism Sikkim got associated in the film Pahuna.
Besides Purple Pebble Pictures’ foray in Sikkimese films, the production house had also announced its foray into the genre of children’s cinema by launching three films in Sikkimese, Konkani and Hindi respectively.
