Bringing back the much popular franchise after almost a decade, audiences eagerly awaited the potent combo of Amitabh Bachchan and Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3. While the latter continue to claim that it is one of his most ambitious franchises, the film however had to face a delay in its release, where it was shifted by a month.
One amongst them is said to be because the film went into re-editing. Amidst speculations of the promotions facing delay due to the untimely demise of Aishwarya’s father, now we hear that there have many other reasons that eventually led to the film being postponed. Reportedly, a focus group that came together to review Sarkar 3 had claimed that the film is too long.
Considering the way hopes are being pinned on this franchise, Ram Gopal Varma doesn’t want any stone left unturned and decided to abide by their decision. He decided to opt for a re-edit. From what we hear, it was Amitabh Bachchan’s idea to chop off the length of the film.
Sarkar 3 follows the story of Subhash Nagre and this time with a leap of ten years. It also stars Amit Sadh, Yami Gautam, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee in lead roles amongst others and is slated to release on May 12.
