Boman Irani made his foray into the world of commercial movies with Raju Hirani’s Munnabhai MBBS. He went on to become a huge actor and has been seen in innumerable memorable films since then. He has been part of all the film’s that Mr Hirani has directed till now. In a Bollywood Hungama exclusive with Faridoon Shahryar, Mr Irani confirmed that he indeed is part of Hirani’s next ‘Dutt Biopic’. He talks about his role and how he was originally part of the film.
“Yes it’s a special appearance in the film. Earlier on Raju said you are not in the film but I’ve put a tape in film so you’ll be seen as a character from Munnabhai in the film. Munna Bhai is played on television while the other scene is going on. Then he called up and said no that’s not good enough. I need you in the film. And I’ve done this small role. It’s a role that has got to do with the story. It’s not just an item. Raju because of his relationship with me, and the fact that I have been in every film of his, he wanted me in the film and it’s just great spirit. We started our careers together and here I am very proud to be part of the film. Even the smallest bit is good enough for me, even a television bit from Munna bhai. It was Raju’s Idea. I told him I’ll do anything.”
