To substantiate that, Sanjay went on records recently and stated, “Asin was never approached. I think either she or her manager is delusional. She was never in the running for my film. We need a powerhouse performer for the film. So once it was clear that Vidya Balan couldn’t do the film, our only choice was Kangna Ranaut, and not Asin. I wonder who spoke to her about the film, because I can assure you that neither Ekta nor I have done so.”
However, Asin hasn’t taken this outburst too kindly and has decided to present her point of view.
She says, “I really don’t want to be dragged into Mr. Gupta’s random publicity stunts. It’s weird why he should lie or be in denial but the truth and the fact is that I had been approached for the film by Ms. Swati Shetty from Balaji Motion Pictures. There are many proofs that I have for that. However, I have my own reasons for not doing the film.”
She goes on to add, “I am least interested in being a part of some PR stunt by Mr. Gupta for his movie or himself. Beyond that I have nothing to say.”
Guess unlike Vivek Oberoi, who found himself on the wrong side of Gupta during the casting conversations for Shootout At Wadala, at least Asin isn’t willing to take it lying down.
Over to you Sanjay!
