After playing a negative role in Commando 2, Esha Gupta is all set to turn bad once again in the Milan Luthria period drama. Baadshaho, which stars the actress in a prominent role, is set during the Emergency period and hence the actress’ look in the film too is inspired by yesteryear divas.
From what we hear, the makers were keen on giving a trendy look to Esha Gupta in the film and hence her avatar is inspired by the then bombshells – Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi. In fact, Esha, who has already been an integral part of the period thriller Rustom, tried several hair and make-up permutations and combinations, of which the best got the nod from director Milan Luthria. Apparently, the filmmaker wanted his leading lady to look sexy despite the badass vibe to her character.
The film’s stylist and director Milan suggested Esha to alter her hair colour since they did not have the concept of colour highlights then and also wanted her to try on coloured lenses. Esha admits that it’s probably the highest number of tests she has ever undergone to crack her look in a film.
Besides her, Baadshaho also stars Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D’Cruz, Vidyut Jammwal among others and it is slated to release on September 1.
