"See, I can understand that Bunty Aur Babli is so fresh in everyone’s mind till date. Even I loved that movie. However Bittoo Boss doesn’t have anything similar when it comes to even the basic storyline", says Amita who is playing the role of Mrinalini in the film, "I think the only reason these two films are being compared is because they are based on Punjabi culture with lots of music, dance, colours, marriages and celebrations and all."
Celebrations have been never ending at the Pathak household though, what with Abhishek taking his second big step into production after delivering a cult hit in the form of Pyaar Ka Punchnama last year.
"I remember the days when he was making Pyaar Ka Punchnama, he was so involved in its making", she says in a tone of admiration, "When the film turned out to be such a good success, we all saw results of the hard work that he and his team had put into it. With Bittoo Boss, he has gone further mad in terms of his obsession. He has been so much occupied with the film in every department, be it editing or visiting Censor board office. He has done everything that we couldn’t even imagine was possible. At times, we didn’t see him for 10-12 days at stretch. He really deserves a lot of credit for the film."
Now that Abhishek has produced two films and before that she too had produced Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, isn’t it time for her to return to the grind?
"Not right now", Amita says immediately, "See, during the making of Atithi…., quite a few people had this misconception that I was not interested in acting and was considering production as my full fledged occupation. It isn’t like that though. I want to act but would do only if I am not happy and satisfied with the character I am playing. Same holds good for production as well. I decided to do Atithi… because I liked it. I want to make correct choices. Of course production is always there; after all, it is a family business that we siblings have to take forward. However right now it is acting career that I wish to concentrate on."
